Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Requirements
On November 19, 2020, the City Council adopted Ordinance 2020-48, amending the Land Management Code to require Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) for new development and redevelopment:[1]
Multi-Unit Dwellings and Non-Residential Development
Infrastructure
EVCS Infrastructure[2] must be installed for 20% of the first 100 parking spaces, and for 5% thereafter.

Installations
EVCS Installations must be installed for 5% of the total required parking spaces. The first installation must be a dual-port installation with one ADA-compliant EVCS.

Private Residential Garages
The Private Garages for Single-Family Dwellings, Duplexes, and Triplexes must be EV – Ready, meaning the Garage includes a dedicated circuit to accommodate the potential installation of a Level 2 Electric Vehicle Charging Station.
