bus in the wild

Looking for ways to improve your commute? Find neighbors who live and work near you on Park City's carpool matching platform, Ride On Park City! You can also join our incentive programs which reward you for choosing sustainable transportation options. Ride On also provides metrics of money saved and emissions reduced. So far, the Park City community has reduced 99.9 tons of Co2 from our air!

Ride On Park City is sponsored by Park City Municipal in partnership with Canyons Village Management Association, Deer Valley Resort, and Park City Mountain Resort.

Winter Commuter Incentive Program 2022-2023

The Park City Winter Commuter Incentive Program is a community wide program to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce congestion on Park City’s roadways. Eligibility is open to any employees, visitors, residents of Park City and the greater Summit County. The program will be available from Thursday, December 1, 2022, through Friday, March 31st, 2023. The goal of the program is to replace drive alone trips by incentivizing sustainable trips including walking, biking, riding the bus, carpooling, using park and ride lots, and vanpool.

What is Ride On Park City?

Ride On Park City is an online platform to help people change their commutes. Ride On can match individuals to nearby neighbors and coworkers who share similar commute patterns. The platform can help users find people to carpool and even take transit, walk, or bike together. The platform also enables organizations and employers to incentivize and gamify sustainable transportation alternatives.

What is the Program?

The Winter Commuter Incentive Program provides cash rewards to individuals who live, work, or play in Park City and take a sustainable mode of transportation to get to work. Trips can be logged at RideOnParkCity.org or by using Strava, Waze, or the CommuteTrack app. Each mode has a point value assigned to it. The person with the most points wins! Be sure to log your trips each month to be entered into monthly random drawings for other great prizes! See complete rules below.

What do I win?

The grand prize for the Park City Winter Commuter Incentive Program is $1,500 cash. This prize will go to the user with the most points. The user with the second most points will receive $1,000 cash. Each month there will be random prize drawings open to anyone who has logged at least one trip that month.

What counts as a “trip”?

A one-way journey to or from work made by bike, bus, foot, carpool, or other sustainable transportation methods. For example, if you drive to a park and ride lot and take the bus into work, that is one Park & Ride trip. If you take the bus back to the park & ride lot and drive home, that is one additional trip.

How do I get started?

  1. Create an account at RideOnParkCity.org.

  2. Join your organization’s network and/or the “Ride On Park City” network.

  3. Log your trips! It’s that easy to get rewards!

Rules:

* Participants may not log more than two trips per day.

** Participants may not win more than one grand prize.

***Water bottles must be picked up in person in Park City.

****A Park City Municipal representative will reach out to prize winners via email. Winners who fail to respond within 72 hours will forfeit the prize and it will be given to another participant.

*****RideOn network managers reserve the right to disqualify participants if they see falsified commute logs.
