RFP Number: PCMC202424773

Park City’s first Comprehensive Plan dates to 1985 with an overall goal “[t]o guide and redevelop in a manner which will enhance the town’s appeal as a place to live, work, and visit while preserving Park City’s unique community character.” The 1985 plan was updated with a 1997 General Plan, and while supplements were added, it was not fully updated again until the 2014 General Plan

The 2014 General Plan is organized in two volumes around four core community values: Small Town, Natural Setting, Sense of Community, and Historic Character. Volume I outlines sixteen goals, objectives, and strategies for implementation and Volume II provides supporting information, including an overview of neighborhoods, detailed strategies, best practices and trends. Since the adoption of the 2014 General Plan, much has changed, including a potential return of the Winter Olympics.

Embracing bold action was the community call from the latest visioning initiative Vision 2020, which included engagement with over 1,700 residents and stakeholders. The comprehensive update to the 2014 General Plan is an opportunity for further community engagement to look ahead and shape the future of Park City through land use, housing, transportation, historic preservation, sustainability, and other elements identified and prioritized by the community. Park City seeks professional consultant services for this comprehensive update.
