Water
Earth inside Water DropThe July 4th week is typically the highest water demand week that the City sees. During this week the Water Department produces between 8 and 9 million gallons a day. This can stretch Park Ctiy's water sources. Given the hot, dry summer please use water wisely. If you see water waste, please let that person know they have a problem or contact the water department at (435) 615-5335.

Outdoor Conservation Tip
Park City Municipal Corporation offers rebates on smart controllers and landscape water audits. Both can save water and reduce your irrigation costs. Visit the water webpage for more information.  Utah State University has several publications about lawn and landscape irrigation. Check them out.

Indoor Conservation Tip
Use a water-efficient showerhead. They’re inexpensive, easy to install, and can save you up to 750 gallons a month. Turn off the water while you brush your teeth and save 4 gallons per minute. That amounts to 200 gallons a week for a family of four.

CityTour 2013

This year's CityTour will take us to Boulder, Colorado from Wednesday, September 18 to Sunday, September 22. The approximate cost is $700, with $350 collected up front by the city. The remaining monies are paid individually for rooms, some meals and other entertainments. This will be a very interesting tour because Boulder is a model community that has it all, including the University of Colorado, national scientific labs, an amazing downtown, one of the largest open space and trails programs in the country, a vibrant non-profit sector, world class sustainability programs, and an entrepreneurial scene that is on steroids. We usually have space for a limited number of community members to join us. If you are interested contact ReNae.  She will put you on the possible attendance list. Usually everyone who wishes to attend can do so, but the CityTour is limited to 65 people and first preference goes to elected and appointed officials and the current leadership class.

Some of City Council actions in May include . . .

  • Adopting a Special Event Temporary Alcoholic Beverage License
  • Adopting the revised budget for fiscal years 2013-14 and 2014-15
