Utah Emergency Management Association Elects New President
Hugh DanielsHugh Daniels, Park City Municipal's Emergency Program Manager, was elected as the 2013 President–Elect for the Utah Emergency Management Association (UEMA) and will become President in 2014. UEMA represents over 165 members from around the state who serve roles in local, county, state, federal, private sector and volunteer organizations in emergency management.

 

Quinn’s Water Treatment Plant Receives Award
AwardThe award is the Engineering Excellence Honor Award in the Water and Wastewater category given by the American Council of Engineering Companies. The project engineering firm, Carollo Engineers, and Park City Municipal received the award.

The project was evaluated on:
• Innovative Application of New or Existing Techniques
• Future Value to the Engineering Profession
• Social, Economic, and Sustainable Design Considerations
• Complexity
• Exceeding Client/Owner Needs

Winter Parking Regulations
Snow PlowFrom November 1 to April 30, special ordinances apply to facilitate snow removal and emergency access.
• Never park any vehicle or place any object that interferes with snow plowing or removal efforts on any Park City street.
• No parking on the downhill side of any street south of 12th Street. The downhill side of the street is the side on which the natural slope is away from the street surface, the side of which the natural drainage flows.
• Main Street, Park Avenue north of Heber Avenue and Swede Alley are not included with this regulation; however, parking is prohibited on these streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
• It is unlawful for any person to deposit, haul, push, blow, or otherwise deposit snow accumulated on private property within the traveled portion of any public street.No parking sign

Declared Snow Emergency
During a snow removal emergency declared by the City, it is unlawful to park any vehicle on any bus route or first-priority street (listed in the Municipal Codes). Cars impeding snow removal may be impounded. For more information, call 435-615-5301.

Sundance Film Festival1. Leave the driving to us. Ride Park City’s award-winning free transit system. Or, go for a walk. Many services are easily accessible on foot. Bus routes and schedules and walking maps are on-line.
2. If you must drive, carpool or make your commutes either an hour earlier or an hour later. It will save time and you will stay sane. Normal peak traffic hours in Park City are from 7:00 – 9:30 AM and 4:00 – 6:00 PM.
3. Pick up your mail from Main Street Post Office before noon.
4. Shop early or late and avoid the lines at the grocery and other stores.
5. Be flexible and enjoy the show. 


Winter Trails

Heinrich XCFor several years, Park City Municipal Corporation and Mountain Trails FoundationQuinn's Trailhead have successfully partnered in providing winter trail grooming services in the Round Valley Open Space. This partnership has been the catalyst for varying ability levels and user groups to access the publicly owned open space.The collaboration permits the Foundation’s use of city-owned property, storage and equipment (a groomer). Green Your Routine:  Plants Remove Indoor Toxins
Common indoor plants may provide a valuable weapon in the fight against rising levels of indoor air pollution. Celebrity Shootout
Celebrity ShootoutOn January 20th, the Park City Ice Arena will host the 6th annual “Luc Robitaille’s Celebrity Shootout” to benefit Luc and Stacia Robitaille’s charity “Echoes of Hope.” This exciting event starts with a youth hockey clinic coached by Hockey Hall of Fame member Luc Robitaille and other NHL Alumni. After the clinic, there will be a fun and fast-paced hockey game featuring Luc, NHL alumni and celebrities. Tickets and two roster spots for the game are available here. Learn more
