Main Street Improvements Open House
On April 3, 2012 Park City Municipal in collaboration with the Historic Park City Alliance and the IBI Group hosted a public open house on proposed improvements to Main Street and downtown area of Park City. The improvements range from the replacement of curbs, gutters, and sidewalk to larger plazas such as at the Brew Pub parking lot. Crosswalks, bulb-outs, walkways and other pedestrian improvements are also being considered. There were approximately 40 attendees who gave feedback on the proposed conceptual plans. Vial of Life
The Vial of Life program is an emergency preparedness program. The purpose of the program is to encourage senior citizens to compile personal information and place it where it can be easily located by 911 responders in the event of an emergency. The most important component of the Vial of Life program is the information sheet which includes emergency contact information, medical history and other pertinent data on EACH individual who lives in the home. The completed information sheet(s) is folded and rolled, then placed inside a container or even a baggie.

Once completed, the Vial of Life should be placed in a visible location, preferably on a shelf in the door of the refrigerator, where 911 responders can easily locate it to access important and possibly lifesaving information. The packet should also include a Vial of Life magnet to be placed on the outside of the refrigerator door where it can be seen by 911 responders.

REVERSE 911© Emergency Notification System
Park City Municipal Corporation, in partnership with REVERSE 911©, has instituted a city-wide notification system that will be able to send telephone notifications to residents, registered visitors and businesses within Park City Limits impacted by, or in danger of being impacted by, an emergency or disaster. This system, called REVERSE 911©, will be used by emergency response personnel to notify those homes and businesses at risk with information on the event and/or actions (such as evacuation) we are asking them to take. The system utilizes the region's 9-1-1 database, provided by the local telephone company, and thus is able to contact land-line telephones whether listed or unlisted. It is TTY/TDD capable.

The system can also be used to notify neighborhoods, business associations and others of snow removal operations, utility disruptions and other important notifications.

This notification system is for the residents, businesses, second homeowners and visitors within the city limits of Park City, Utah (see map below). If you live in Summit County, Utah outside of the city limits (you may still have a Park City postal address) you are in Summit County’s Code Red© system. The two systems are complimentary and provide needed redundancy.

Because the system uses the 9-1-1 database, only land-line (hard-wired) numbers are in the system. If you have a Voice over IP (VoIP) computer/cable phone or cellular phone and would like to be notified over that device, or if you would like an email notification, you must register those telephone numbers and/or email address for use by the system.

REVERSE 911© Self-Registration Portal is for registering your cell phone, VoIP phone, and email address only. Listed and unlisted land line phones are already included in the database and do not need to be registered.

To register your computer/cable VoIP phone, cellular phone or email address, please go to the Reverse 911© Self Registration Portal here. Each number and/or email provided will be added to the local database. You will receive a confirming email message to the address entered that you need to respond to and then you will have successfully registered.

Register your cell phone or computer/cable VoIP phone with Summit County’s Code Red© system here.
