Park City Municipal to Launch Water Wise Landscaping Incentive Program May 1
Park City, Utah – As a result of the Park City Council’s commitment to water conservation, Park City Municipal will debut a new program designed to save water through the promotion of water wise landscaping for both residential and commercial properties. Beginning May 1, residents and property owners may be eligible to receive $2 per square foot for turf (minimum of 250 sq ft) removed and replaced with approved landscaping via this new Landscape Incentive Program.
“During the summer months approximately 70% of our municipal water is used for landscaping – a staggering number that means millions of gallons can be saved daily through a switch to water wise landscaping and efficient irrigation practices," said Mayor Nann Worel. “I encourage our residents and commercial property owners to participate in this program – let’s do our part to save water now and into the future.”
The program will be available to all 84060 residents and business that currently have a turf lawn irrigated with Park City water. Interested applicants can contact the City starting May 1 and request an onsite meeting to ensure eligibility.
