Park City and Partners Invite Businesses to Join Winter Commuter Challenge

Employee participants will be eligible to earn prizes for reducing trips

Park City, Utah – Park City Municipal, in partnership with Park City area resorts and The Park City Chamber of Commerce | Convention & Visitors Bureau, announces the launch of its 2021-2022 RideOn Park City Winter Commuter Challenge. All Park City area businesses are invited to participate in the challenge, in which their employees would be eligible to win $3,500 in prizes for reducing commuting in the Park City area by utilizing the RideOn Park City app to plan carpooling, transit, biking or walking trips

“As we welcome guests back to our mountain community this winter, we all must work together to address the impacts of automobile use,” said Park City Manager Matt Dias. “RideOn Park City is part of the solution, providing an alternative that reduces traffic and makes Park City a healthier, safer, and more sustainable community.”

RideOn Park City was launched in 2019. Since then, the program’s nearly 1,300 participants have logged over 16,000 carpool, transit, walking, and biking trips. Together, Park City’s workforce has reduced over 200,000 miles of driving and reduced 46.8 tons of Co2 pollution.

The City is now giving Park City area businesses (from Kimball Junction to Quinn’s Junction) free access to the RideOn Park City platform. RideOn Park City gives employees access to a citywide carpool board and gives employers the ability to encourage and track carpool, transit, biking, and walking commutes. The platform is accessible via or through the CommuteTracker app.
