PCIM Updates

Hi Park City Ice Miners! It has been a very busy month and we have accomplished a lot. Here are some organization-wide reminders and updates:

CONGRATULATIONS ELLA BYNAN!

The PCIM would like to congratulate former Park City Ice Miner, Ella Bynan, for committing to play NCAA Division III ice hockey for Hood College beginning in 2024-2025. We can't wait to follow your collegiate career!

NECK GUARDS

The Park City Ice Miners continue to highly recommend the use of all protective equipment including neck guards and cut-resistant sleeves, pants, socks, etc. USA Hockey will address a potential rule change proposal as early as their January board meeting and we will be following the outcome of this meeting closely.

CELL PHONES IN LOCKER ROOMS

Just a reminder that cell phones are PROHIBITED from locker rooms at all times. Please remind your player that PCIM has a zero-tolerance policy for cell phones in locker rooms.

JANS WINTER WELCOME

The Park City Ice Miners raised over $12,000 at the JANS Winter Welcome event from opportunity drawing ticket sales, silent auction items, and reimbursement of volunteer hours. We use these funds to help pay for scholarships and events to support youth hockey in Summit County and the surrounding areas.

Thank you to our generous donors who donated items for the silent auction:

LIVE PC, GIVE PC

Thank you to everyone who donated to support the Park City Ice Miners with the Live PC, Give PC event. Our organization raised over $1,289 in one day! The dollars raised will help pay for ice rental fees, referees, coach's training & certification costs, and the purchase of hockey pucks.

PARK CITY HIGH MOUNTAIN SHOOTOUT NOVEMBER 2-5

We had a very successful High Mountain Shootout tournament. This Fall, we had 6 divisions with 26 teams participating in the tournament. We had teams representing 5 states (Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, and Nevada).

A big thank you to Matt Prucka for doing all the work behind the scenes to make sure the teams were registered, the ice booked, the referees and scorekeepers were hired, the website was set up and all the results posted on-time!

This tournament is another big fundraiser for our organization and we couldn't pull it off without the generous help from our volunteers. We sold over $4,000 at the merchandise booth over the 4 days! Thank you to everyone below who volunteered their time to help sell merchandise and/or set up/broke down the booth:

  • Monique Abbott
  • Katrin Barnerssoi
  • Melissa Boyle
  • Yvette Connely
  • Beth Downing
  • Matt Genther

Finally, on behalf of the entire Park City Ice Miners organization, we would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Yvette Connely for all of the work she does for our organization. She volunteers tirelessly for all the things, and we are so grateful to her for her hours and hours of service to the Park City Ice Miners. Thanks, Yvette!!

Park City Ice Miners Mission

The Park City Ice Miners (PCIM) is dedicated to providing a positive learning experience as we challenge our players to grow in every aspect of the game. It is our goal to develop character, sportsmanship in all players, coaches and parents, and physical fitness among youth in the northern Utah area; promote, encourage, and improve the standard of amateur ice hockey; associate with other ice hockey associations; expand the game of hockey on the Wasatch Back through public awareness and development of as many youth as possible; and to perform or participate in other activities that will aid in reaching these objectives.

Additionally, PCIM provides programs consistent with those allowed by the Utah Amateur Hockey Association (UAHA). PCIM offers 3 levels of play:

USA Hockey has approved a requirement for neck laceration protection to be worn by all players, other than adults, effective August 1, 2024. All Park City Ice Miners players will be required to wear neck laceration protection while participating in any on-ice activity.

Welcome Goalie Coach, Jordan Parise

By Bethany Adamek 10/20/2023, 12:30pm MDT

The Park City Ice Miners are excited to welcome Jordan Parise as our new goalie coach. With over 20 years of coaching experience, 250 professional games played, and MVP honors while playing for the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux, Jordan is excited to join the Park City Ice Miners organization for the 2023-2024 season.  His primary focus will be the growth and development of the goaltenders while providing insight, opportunities, and education for forwards and defensemen in their goal-scoring pursuits.

Jordan will be on the ice several times per week, covering all age groups, to ensure a high-level standard is consistently met.  He will encourage young, motivated athletes to push beyond what they believe is possible.

Welcome to the PCIM family, Coach Parise!
