A Message for the New Year from Mayor Nann Worel

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you enjoying the magic of the holiday season, surrounded by family, friends, and our beautiful snow-dusted mountains.

As we approach the new year, I find myself reflecting on what makes Park City unique. At the heart of it all are the deep connections we share — not only with this remarkable place but with one another. “Strength in Partnerships” has been more than just a theme this past year; it has been the foundation of everything we’ve accomplished together.

In 2024, we celebrated significant milestones that showcased the power of collaboration. The completion of the 3Kings Water Treatment Plant, the largest infrastructure project in Park City’s history, securing high-quality drinking water for generations to come. We saw the progress of EngineHouse, a public-private partnership that will bring 99 workforce housing units to the heart of our city.

Working hand-in-hand with federal, state, and regional partners, we expanded our electric bus fleet, improved park-and-ride options, and laid the groundwork for future transformative projects, including bus rapid transit and regional park-and-ride solutions.

We listened to parents express the need for affordable childcare, so we launched an affordable childcare access program that provides vital support to over 100 local families today and is being recognized nationally.

And last but certainly not least, this summer we learned we will again welcome the world during the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Utah.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue shaping Park City’s future. Whether it’s adopting a new General Plan, ensuring the vibrancy of Historic Main Street through thoughtful investments, or advancing the transformation of our 5-acre site in Bonanza Park, we’re committed to balancing growth with the needs of our community.

To our residents: thank you for your engagement, trust, and love for this town. To our incredible municipal employees: your dedication and passion for Park City inspire me daily. Together, we’ve shown that partnerships aren’t just our strength — they’re the heart of who we are.
