9.3.24 City Brief

A look ahead for Park City Municipal

This Week in City Council

The City Council meets Thursday, September 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. Agenda highlights include:

Resolution Welcoming Courchevel Sister City Visitors

Councilors will adopt a resolution officially welcoming the visiting delegation from Courchevel, France, including Mayor Jean-Yves Pachod and City Councilors Manon Lazzaroni and Claude Chedal Anglay. The resolution also recognizes the 40-year history between Park City and Courchevel, and the benefits both cities have realized from the Sister City relationship. View agenda it here.

Main Street Area Plan Update

The Main Street Area Plan (MSAP) team will provide a written update on the project’s progress. The planning process, in its nascent stages, is designed to ensure that Main Street and the immediate surrounding area maintains its historic character, while also remaining economically vibrant for the next several decades. A public Open House on MSAP is expected to be held this fall, date TBD. View agenda item here.

Ranked Choice Voting Update

Park City has been exploring the possibility of shifting municipal elections to ranked choice voting (RCV). RCV involves voters numerically ranking candidates in order of their preference, rather than just selecting one choice. Councilors will receive a legislative update from Utah Ranked Choice Voting representatives, continue their policy discussion, and provide direction to the City Recorder about RCV. View agenda item here.

China Bridge Structural Assessment Report

The Council will receive a written communication summarizing the China Bridge Parking Structure Condition Assessment and the 5-Year Capital Improvement and Protection Plan. China Bridge is a major 580-stall parking facility owned by the municipality. View agenda item here.
