COVID-19: FAQ's and Resources
Park City MARC & Recreation FAQ’s related to COVID-19
When will you reopen?
In compliance with the March 25th Summit County Public Health Stay at Home Order designed to slow the spread of COVID-19, The Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center is closed to the public through May 1, 2020.
We are following the recommendations of the Summit County Health Department, who will review recreation facility closures in two weeks’ time. Please visit our main webpage for updates on our closure and opening date. We miss you all and can't wait for you to come back and see us when we re-open!
I need to pick up my personal belongings from the locker room/pro shop. Can I get them while the facility is closed?
If you need to access the facility please contact us by sending a message through Facebook, calling 435-615-5401 and leaving a message, or emailing email@example.com.
Will my fitness pass be extended for the time the facility is closed?
Once we confirm our re-opening date we will extend passes. If you are unable to use your pass after the extension please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request a refund.
What is the PC MARC doing to prepare for reopening?
The PC MARC is typically only closed for one day (Christmas) each year, so this extended closure is a great opportunity for us to complete some projects that are usually difficult to get done. We are deep cleaning the whole building; knocking the dust down from hard to reach places, disinfecting all of the fitness equipment and climbing wall holds, cleaning tennis courts, and wiping down all the touch points in the building. In addition to the deep clean we are having walls painted and the carpets cleaned! When we re-open not only will the building be clean but we will also have replaced some of the fitness equipment, such as stability balls, mats and TRX straps.
What resources are available for workouts while the facility is closed?
Use the links below this message to follow us on social media, where we'll be sharing workouts and videos created by our group fitness instructors, as well as challenges that you and your family can participate in to stay active and outdoors.
We'll also be uploading class videos to our Working Out While Staying In playlist on our Park City MARC & Recreation youtube channel.
Are other outdoor facilities currently closed?
Beginning March 30, 2020 the Library Field Dog Park and Park City Sports Complex Dog Park will be closed. Additionally, areas where people may congregate such as play structures and play equipment, park pavilions, tennis and basketball courts, park and trailhead restrooms, and the Park City skate park are closed.
While we realize the frustration that comes with some outdoor areas being closed, we hope you’ll understand the challenges of keeping the access to these places clean and operable during this time. Parks, athletic fields, and trails remain open where conditions allow, but we hope that you’ll practice social distancing during use.
What is happening with recreation programs?
All spring programming scheduled to begin in April has been pushed out until May. Some programs may be cancelled, while others may just be postponed. Start dates for specific programming will be emailed out to patrons and can be viewed on our website as soon as information is available. Registration for all summer camps and programs is scheduled for May 4th, 2020 beginning at 6:00am.
