Leadership Park City Welcomes Rob Katz, Chairman & CEO of Vail Resorts, to Keynote the 25th Anniversary Community Leadership Lecture

MONDAY, MARCH 18, 7:00 PM, SANTY AUDITORIUM

 

Park City, Summit County, Utah (March 4, 2019) — Leadership Park City is proud to announce the keynote speaker for the 25th annual Community Leadership Lecture: Rob Katz, Chairman & CEO of Vail Resorts, owns and operates Park City Mountain. Katz will speak to Leadership Class 25 and the Park City community on Monday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Santy Auditorium on the third floor of the Park City Library. He will share his passion for leadership development and discuss how a strong leadership culture at Vail Resorts has been an essential component of the Company’s growth and success. His remarks will be followed by a Q&A with Myles Rademan, and then opened to questions from the audience. The Community Leadership Lecture is free and open to the public.

 

Katz has been CEO of Vail Resorts since 2006 and has served on the Company’s board of directors since 1996. He currently leads a growing company of nearly 40,000 people spread across 18 resorts in 10 states and three countries. Prior to joining Vail Resorts as CEO, he was associated with Apollo Management LLP, a private equity investment firm, since its founding in 1990. Katz currently serves on the Wharton Leadership Advisory Board and has donated extensively to support the school’s work on leadership development—both through the Katz Fund for Research on Leadership and Emotional Intelligence and the expansion of the school’s People Lab, a research and education ecosystem built to help people identify and develop leadership qualities vital to their long-term success. Recent recognition for Katz and his leadership at Vail Resorts includes: Global Game Changer (Forbes 2017), one of Most Creative People in Business (Fast Company), Transformational Entrepreneur of the Year (Ernst & Young 2016), and Most Admired CEO (Denver Business Journal 2018). During Katz’s tenure, Vail Resorts has been recognized as one of America’s Best Employers (Forbes 2017 & 2016), one of the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies (Fast Company 2016) and one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies in Travel (Fast Company2017).
