We learned some important business lessons during the games, not the least of which was that people will stand in lines for hours just to get a funky little hat.
Retailers who did well offered Olympic-related merchandise. Restaurants & Bars
- Family style did well: pizza, burgers, brewpub
- High end did well, but not booked
- Bars close to USSA house did well, others not so
- Food tents were not so successful because of perceived expensiveness
- 80% occupancy
- Hotels full
- Larger condos did not rent well
- Houses Rented = Close to Venues
- Skier Numbers = down 15% - 20%
- Roots berets sold = 17,000/day
