Energy efficiency is the cornerstone of a sustainable energy system and energy efficiency not only reduces energy consumption but also saves money and prevents pollution. Park City's efforts have already resulted in significant savings for instance all light fixtures in City Hall have been retrofitted to energy efficient fixtures. Park City recognizes that additional programs and retrofits will achieve further energy savings.
Park City will promote a policy to "Continually improve the efficient use of all energy resources in order to ensure a future with a secure and sustainable energy supply" and to "look to increase the amount of clean and renewable energy purchased"
