Park City Transit is currently seeking applicants who are 21 years of age for the position of Seasonal Bus Operator for the 2006/2007 winter ski season. You would be joining a fast growing transit operation that connects three unique ski resorts, the surrounding Park City area, and portions of Summit County. We transport over a million passengers/skiers a year with our service. Applicants must have the desire to learn a variety of skills, posses a good driving record and work well with others in a fun upbeat safe environment. No experience is required, Park City Transit will offer qualified candidates the following:

Perform daily pre-inspection and post-inspection of buses in order to ensure maximum safety in operation of the vehicle, communicates both verbally and in writing about safety concerns to the fleet maintenance department.
Operate buses safely on pre-established City routes, maintaining a time schedule whenever possible. Comply with ADA requirements for transporting disabled passengers, such as announcing stops, offering assistance etc.
Provide information and directions for passengers, both on and off the bus. When asked, physically assist passengers boarding and unloading with different types of equipment, such as skis, bicycles, luggage, wheelchairs etc.
Ensures passengers safety in the event of accident or vehicle break down or fire. Assist those needing assistance in evacuation a bus and securing the scene for safety.
Accepts and executes instructions/suggestions offered by personnel in Bus Driver II and Bus Driver III Classifications, as well as supervisory personnel.
Perform minor vehicle maintenance, such as cleaning interior and exterior, maintaining appropriate fuel and oil levels, maintaining appropriate levels of water and radiator coolant, and maintaining appropriate air pressure in vehicle tires.
-Posses a clean driving record -Ability to read English and interpret traffic signs, schedules and posted memos. -Ability to perform under a variety of pressures and to deal with directions while driving. -Ability to interact well with fellow employees and general public in English. -Skilled in interpersonal communications, both verbally and in writing. -Ability to safely operate a bus under adverse weather conditions. -Ability to memorize streets, locations and time points. -Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts, days or nights, weekends, holidays. -Ability to perform professional 2-way radio communication. -Knowledge of state laws and safety regulations. -Skilled in operating a transit vehicle safely. -Ability to deliver good customer service under a variety of pressures.
-Ability to obtain CDL class B with passenger endorsement and air brakes. -Ability to pass and maintain DOT physical -Must successfully complete Park City Transit's bus driver training program -Utah Commercial Drivers License Class B with air brakes endorsement preferred -Second language preferred
