How do I pay a traffic citation?
If you received your citation within SummitCounty, you may mail your payment to Summit County Justice Court, 6300 N. Silver Creek Drive, Park City, Utah 84098. If you wish to pay by credit card, call the court at 435-615-3800.

How do I contest a traffic citation?
If you received your citation within Summit County, call the Summit County Justice Court at 435-615-3800 to get information on appealing your citation.

My car is missing. How can I see if it was stolen or towed?
If you were parked within the city limits of Park City, call the Park City Police Dispatch at 435-615-5500.  If you were outside the city limits in Summit County, call the Summit County sheriff at 435-615-3500.

If my vehicle was towed, what do I do?
Inside the city limits, call the Park City Police Dispatch at 615-5500 if your car was towed from public property and they will advise you what the process is.  Outside the city limits, call the Summit County sheriff's dispatch at 615-3500.

How can I report an abandoned vehicle?
If the vehicle is located on city-owned property or a city street, call the police department at 615-5500 and report the location and type of vehicle.The law requires that the abandoned vehicle owner be give 72 hours to remove the vehicle after it's been reported so the officer will place a 72-hour sticker on the window. The officer will follow-up to see that the vehicle has been removed and, if not, will call for a tow truck.

What can be done about illegally parked vehicles, such as those blocking a driveway?
Call the police department to report the violation at 615-5500.

What should I do if I've been involved in a traffic accident?
Stay at the scene and call the police department. If there are injuries or any emergency circumstances, call 911. If the accident is minor and/or there are no injuries, call dispatch at 615-5500.

How can I obtain a copy of a police report?
You can come in to the records department at 445 Marsac Avenue between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m, Monday through Friday. You'll be required to fill out a form and present a photo ID. The cost is $2.00 for a standard police report.  If you are unable to come in to the department or live out of town, you can call the records department at 435-615-5506 and a request form will be mailed or faxed to you.

What can I do about my noisy neighbors?
You can call the Park City Police Dispatch at 615-5500 and request that an officer be sent to talk to the neighbors. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances and when the officer arrives at the neighbor's house, he or she has the discretion to determine that. If you wish, you can ask the dispatcher to have the officer call you back to tell you what the disposition was.

What are the regulations concerning construction-related noise?
In most residential zones in Park City, it is unlawful for any person to perform or cause to be performed any construction work on any construction site . . . between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. or before 9 a.m. on Sundays. Each construction site is required to negotiate an agreement with the Park City Building Department that mitigates noise and other problems associated with construction. The Building Official may authorize extended hours if needed. Call the Park City Building Department at 615-5109 to file a complaint.

Animal control is the responsibility of Summit County and you can reach the animal control department at 615-3985. If it is after hours, you may call the Park City Police Dispatch at 615-5500.

There are two ways to report illegal activity. You can call the Park City Police Dispatch at 615-5500 and they will have you talk to a police officer.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you may call the Tip-A-Cop line at 615-5847. If you choose to leave the information anonymously, please remember, the success of the action taken will rely on the information you give. In other words, the more information you give, the better the chance the crime will be solved. If you choose to leave your name and number, rest assured an officer or investigator will contact you.

How can I obtain information on becoming a police officer?
In the state of Utah, the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is responsible for training new police officers. They can be reached in Salt Lake City at 801-965-4595.

What opportunities are there for civilians who want to work for the Park City Police Department?
Being a small department, the Park City Police Department doesn't have many civilian employees. There is one record clerk and an administrative assistant. How can I volunteer for the Park City Police Department?

The Park City Police Department has a several opportunities for volunteers.  Call 435-615-5505 if you are interested in volunteering.

PARK HOST - The Park Host program utilizes volunteers in the City Park.The hosts patrol the park on weekends in pairs.They are there to educate the public on park etiquette and rules, report criminal activities or violations, assist citizens with questions, etc.If you are interested, please contact Shelley Weiss at 615-7190.

CITIZENS ALLIANCE COMMITTEE .  The Citizen's Alliance Committee (CAC) will provide the community of Park City the opportunity to interact with law enforcement, the school district, social services providers and community resource providers in developing strong working relationships.  The committee will provide a better understanding of the issues affecting those entities and help establish a partnership between the community and the various entities.

POLICE COMPLAINT REVIEW COMMITTEE: The Police Complaint Review Committee meets on an as-needed basis to act in the capacity of an appeals body to review dispositions of complaints filed against police personnel or policies, if formally requested by the complainant.  The committee provides advisory recommendations to the Chief of Police and consists of five members, three citizens from the community at large and two city staff members.  Members serve a two-year term.
